Rem Oil is a good oil for firearm lubrication and corrosion resistance. ![]() It was much more slippery than some other well known gun oils and of course compared to bare metal. Just sliding a metal block across a metal bar with it applied made a significant improvement in ease of movement. I would have to say that Rem Oil is a very good lubricant based on the various tests I have put it through. Low Viscosity – soaks into small areas and metal pores.Cleaner – helps remove powder carbon and fouling.Corrosion Protection – passes salt spray test as per Gov’t requirements.Dry to the touch – most lubricants are wet.Excellent Friction Coefficient – according to an extensive friction coefficient test where 46 CLP’s/Gun Oils were tested for lubrication and corrosion resistance properties.I’ll answer this right off the bat for you….YES Remington Rem Oil…reduce wear and increase reliability?
